What Is a Flickbot? Flickbot vs Aimbot Explained

Learn how flickbots work, how they differ from regular aimbots, which games they're used in, and why Overwatch 2 players prefer them.
What Is a Flickbot?
A flickbot is a specialized type of aimbot that only activates at the moment you click to shoot. Instead of continuously tracking a target, the flickbot snaps your crosshair to the enemy in one instant motion — like a "flick" — then deactivates immediately.
The key difference from a regular aimbot: the flickbot doesn't do anything until you shoot. Your aim movements between shots are completely natural because they're yours.
Flickbot vs Aimbot: What's the Difference?
| Feature | Flickbot | Track Aimbot |
|---|---|---|
| When active | Only on click | Continuously |
| Your aim | 100% natural between shots | Assisted constantly |
| Killcam appearance | Looks like skilled flick aim | May look unusual |
| Best for | Snipers, single-shot heroes | Spray weapons, tracking |
| Detectability by spectators | Very hard to notice | Easier to spot |
How Does a Flickbot Work?
- You move your mouse normally, positioning it near enemies
- The moment you click to shoot, the flickbot instantly adjusts your crosshair to hit the target
- Immediately after the shot, control returns to you
- On killcam, it looks exactly like a skilled player making a fast flick
Which Games Use Flickbots?
Flickbots are most popular in hero shooters where certain characters rely on single powerful shots:
Overwatch 2
Raw Overwatch has a fully customizable flickbot with per-hero settings. Different configurations auto-apply when you switch heroes:
- Widowmaker — Flick to heads on scoped shots
- Hanzo — Flick with arrow prediction
- Cassidy — Fan the hammer flick
- Ashe — Scoped flick shots
- Sojourn — Railgun flick
You can also combine the flickbot with a secondary track aimbot, so heroes like Soldier: 76 use tracking while Widowmaker uses flick.
Other Games
While flickbots work in any shooter, they shine in games with high single-shot damage. In Fortnite, the triggerbot (included in Raw Fortnite) serves a similar safe role — it only fires when your crosshair is on target.
Flickbot Settings
- Flick Speed — How fast the snap happens. Faster = more reliable, slower = more natural-looking
- FOV — Maximum angle from crosshair where flick activates
- Hitbone — Head, chest, or closest bone
- Per-Hero Config — In OW2, each hero can have completely different flickbot settings that auto-apply
